Provisional Psychologist
Clement is currently pursuing a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at James Cook University and is completing his clinical placement at Mind What Matters under the supervision of Dr Joel Yang. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours). Clement has also contributed to research in health behaviour change, including a publication examining how action and coping planning can support individuals in increasing physical exercise.
Clement adopts a collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship forms the foundation for meaningful change. He strives to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring their experiences. Clement values open communication and works closely with clients to ensure that therapy remains a collaborative and empowering process.
He is trained in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and may incorporate experiential techniques such as imagery rescripting and chair work when appropriate. Clement works with clients to better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours while developing practical strategies to navigate challenges and build psychological flexibility.
Prior to his clinical training, Clement worked as a youth worker and case worker at Boys’ Town, supporting adolescents with complex trauma through the Trauma Systems Therapy pilot programme. He later worked as an Associate Psychologist at Clarity Singapore, providing brief psychological interventions and community mental health workshops for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and work-related stress.
