Tan E-Lin

Provisional Counsellor

E-lin is a counsellor-in-training who brings warmth, empathy, and grounded life experience into her practice. Currently pursuing her Master of Counselling in Singapore, she offers sessions under professional supervision and is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard and understood.

Since 2014, Elin has worked in the healthcare industry, beginning in frontline roles and progressing into operations. This journey has given her the privilege of working closely with individuals and families during vulnerable and often complex moments, deepening her appreciation for the emotional, psychological, and relational challenges that people face. Her experiences have shaped her sensitivity towards issues of grief, loss, and addiction, and she is particularly drawn to supporting individuals navigating these difficult and deeply personal experiences.

Elin adopts a person-centred approach in her work, grounding her practice in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. She believes that each individual holds the capacity for growth and healing, and seeks to walk alongside her clients as they explore their experiences at their own pace. In addition, she integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support clients in developing practical coping strategies and gaining new perspectives.

Trained in Singapore within a multicultural context, Elin brings cultural sensitivity and openness into her practice. She is fluent in English and is able to communicate in Mandarin.

Outside of her counselling work, Elin values self-care through travel, meaningful connections with loved ones, and moments of quiet reflection. She believes that healing is not a linear journey, and feels honoured to support individuals as they move towards greater understanding, resilience, and well-being.

3 fun facts about

Tan E-Lin

1.

I once took an embalming course and almost became a full-fledged embalmer so yes, I’m probably more comfortable talking about death than most people at the dinner table.

2.

I started out in Nursing, which means I can keep calm in chaos and have a natural instinct to care for people (and occasionally remind you to drink water).

3.

With a double major in Psychology and Sociology, I’m always curious about both what’s going on in your mind and the “why” behind how people and society work. I may or may not people-watch for fun.
