Kristie Wong

Provisional Clinical Psychologist

Kristie is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the National University of Singapore and is closely supervised by Dr Joel Yang during her placement here at Mind what Matters.

Kristie started her career as an organisational psychologist in the civil service. During this time, she volunteered in roles that focused on providing mental health support, an experience that deepened her passion and solidified her decision to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist. Prior to her studies, Kristie worked as an assistant psychologist supporting youths facing challenges related to adjustment, mood and relationships. She has gained valuable experience with therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Kristie is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore their emotions and experiences. Her approach centres on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, allowing them to better understand their thoughts, behaviours, and emotional responses as they navigate life’s challenges.

She believes in the unique individuality of each client, and tailors her therapeutic methods to honour their personal journey and strengths. In her free time, she stays active by running, doing yoga and going for occasional strength training classes. She also loves reading and watching plays. Kristie is fluent in English and is able to converse in basic Mandarin.
