Victor Ho

Provisional Counsellor

Victor is currently pursuing his Masters of Counselling at Monash University, and is closely supervised by Ms. Grace Goh during his placement here at Mind what Matters.

His journey in mental health began over a decade ago during medical studies, where close encounters with patients facing emotional and psychological challenges sparked a lasting commitment to supporting others through the complex and often difficult parts of their journey. This formative experience led to a transition into psychology and counselling, and also inspired involvement in voluntary work focused on suicide intervention—further deepening both passion and practical understanding of mental health.

With experience across diverse mental health settings, Victor has seen firsthand how stress, life transitions, and internal conflict can profoundly affect well-being. These insights have shaped a person-centred, empathetic approach to counselling. Drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—his approach is catered to meet the unique needs of every individual.

Victor is also a proponent of clinical hypnotherapy, believing it can offer valuable access to the subconscious mind as a powerful source of insight, wisdom, and self-guided healing.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Victor strives to create a safe, collaborative space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered in their personal growth. Outside of counselling, he finds stillness in moments of solitude, often reconnecting through reading or deep reflection.
