Zena Ler

Provisional Counsellor

Zena holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master of

Counselling with an Australian University. Her own experiences of a difficult childhood led her

to the field of study, originally to make sense of her early life, and gradually to find ways to

support others. She brings experience working with people in healthcare, university, and

community settings, including direct support for individuals with visual disability. She is

passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate stress, self-doubt, and limiting

beliefs. She values warmth, empathy, and strives to meet her clients wherever they are on their

journey.

Her practice is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, as she strongly believes in the healing

power of being seen, heard, and understood, especially during times of stress. She also draws

from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and

Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused approaches. Her priority is to create a

compassionate, supportive space where clients can safely explore their stories and discover

their inner strengths and resources for coping with life’s unique challenges.

Her work is continually overseen by clinical supervisors and supported by her ongoing personal

therapy. Beyond counselling, Zena enjoys comedies, spending time in nature, and spending

quality time with her husband and their beloved cat.
